Payout mechanics, not payout hype

Prop Firm Payouts: How Payout Terms Actually Decide What You Get Paid

Profit split is the number everyone quotes. The payout cycle, first-payout eligibility, consistency rules and minimum trading days are what actually decide whether the money reaches you. This site explains the mechanics and gives you a checklist you can apply to any firm.

We do not publish profit splits, payout frequencies or processing times for individual firms. Those change constantly and are the most misreported figures in this niche — read them on the firm's own terms page.

The six mechanics that decide whether you get paid

Every payout dispute traces back to one of these clauses. Learn them once and you can read any firm's terms in a few minutes.

Profit split vs payout cycle
The split is your share of profit. The cycle is how often that share can be requested. Both must be read together — they are separate clauses and firms change them independently.
First-payout eligibility
First payouts commonly carry extra conditions: verification, a minimum number of trading days, or a waiting period. Read the first-payout clause separately from the general one.
Consistency rules
A cap on how much of your profit may come from one day, trade or instrument. Exceeding it can reduce or void an otherwise valid payout, with no drawdown breach involved.
Minimum trading days
Many firms count qualifying trading days, not calendar days, and define what counts as a trading day in their own terms. This can push a payout date weeks later than expected.
Drawdown after a request
A pending payout request generally does not freeze your risk rules. Breaching drawdown before the payout is processed can invalidate it and the account.
Threshold and payment rail
A minimum payout amount can delay your first withdrawal, and the payment method adds its own settlement time on top of the firm's processing time.

What "match payouts" means — and what it doesn't

The phrase is used loosely across the industry. Three distinct things hide behind it.

1. Payout guarantee
A service-level promise about how quickly a payout is processed, usually with conditions attached. Whether a firm offers one, and what it pays out if missed, must be read on that firm's own terms page.
2. Payout matching / bonuses
Promotional offers that match or double a payout, typically time-limited and condition-heavy. These are marketing offers, not service-level guarantees, and they expire without notice.
3. Match-Trader platform
Match-Trader is a trading platform built by Match-Trade Technologies, comparable to MetaTrader and cTrader. It is unrelated to payouts. A firm can run it and offer no payout matching at all.

"Match-Trader" is a trading platform, not a payout feature.

Don't confuse the platform name with payout matching offers. The two are independent decisions by a firm.

Check what a firm actually promises

Rather than trusting the phrase, open a firm's own payout policy and see which of the three things it is describing.

The payout terms checklist

Ten questions that work on any firm. If a firm's public terms can't answer one of them, treat that as the answer.

  • Profit split

Is the split fixed, tiered, or scaled with account growth?

  • Payout cycle

How often can a request be made, and does the clock start at funding or at first trade?

  • First payout

Are there different rules, extra verification, or a waiting period for payout one?

  • Minimum trading days

How is a trading day defined, and how many are required?

  • Consistency rule

Is there a cap on single-day or single-trade profit share, and how is it measured?

  • Minimum threshold

Is there a floor amount below which no payout is released?

  • Rule status at payout

What happens to a pending request if a risk rule is breached?

  • Payment method

Which rails are supported, and who pays the transfer fee?

  • Refusal grounds

Which clauses let the firm reduce, delay or decline a payout?

  • Change policy

Can the firm change payout terms for an already-funded account?
